About us

St. Marguerite Bourgeoys FertilityCare Toronto (MBFC) is an organization that addresses the needs of couples seeking help with fertility and family planning, as well as women’s reproductive health. Operating for over 30 years, MBFC’s total-health model is contemporary, cooperative, affordable, ecological, and highly effective.  Our methods allow a couple to understand and appreciate their fertility which in turns fosters growth in cooperation, respect and love in their marriage and family. Clients can attend appointments at various sites throughout the GTA;  out of town clients can attend appointments by secure video conference.  Our services are available to all women regardless of age, religion, marital status, irregular cycles or location.

Annually, we receive over 150 new clients through our three program streams, and celebrate the births of over 50 babies, an industry leading standard.

Our approach

The Creighton Model FertilityCare System allows a woman to monitor easily and objectively several biological markers which are essential to understanding their health.  The biological markers are familiar to women including menstrual flow, mucus flow and dry days.  This system has been extensively researched over the past 30 years at Creighton University Medical School and St. Louis University Medical School.  This system gives couples firsthand understanding of their own unique gynaecological health, making them true partners in their health care.  It is a medically safe and accurate system that cooperates with a woman’s natural system, rather than suppressing it.

The Creighton Model FertilityCare System uses Natural Procreative Technology (NaProTECHNOLOGY or NPT) to track the various biological markers identified in the course of a woman’s cycle.  Since the biological markers reflect various hormonal events, monitoring the bio-markers indicates times of fertility and infertility.  It telegraphs abnormalities in a woman’s health that can be interpreted by physicians who are specifically trained in this system. Women are not required to use ovulation detector kits, take their basal body temperature nor make any internal observations.

The differences between NaProTECHNOLOGY and other assisted technologies are that we investigate the underlying causes of infertility, the couple is required to have a natural act of intercourse in order to achieve pregnancy, we offer counselling services to help couples deal with the emotions involved in infertility.
